On 9-10 April, partners of the SWAP project gathered in Rome, Italy, for the first transnational project meeting, marking the official launch of the Erasmus+ Sport project “SWAP – Sitting Volleyball to Improve Health and Foster Social Wellbeing of Children and Youth with Physical-Motor Disabilities”.
Hosted by Euphoria Net, the meeting brought together representatives from partner organisations from Italy, Spain, Greece, and Croatia: the project coordinator Real Eyes Sport, IRCCS Eugenio Medea – La Nostra Famiglia Association, EuroAmerican Association of Sports Sciences, AETOI Thessalonikis, and OK OSI Zrinski.
During the two-day meeting, partners discussed the project objectives, work plan, timeline, and upcoming activities. SWAP aims to promote sitting volleyball as a tool for rehabilitation, inclusion, well-being, and social participation for children and young people with physical and motor disabilities.
Over the next two years, the partnership will work on developing scientific evidence on the benefits of sitting volleyball, creating training opportunities for healthcare professionals, coaches, and teachers, and raising awareness of inclusive sport practices across Europe.
A memorable moment of the meeting was the unexpected encounter with the Italian Men’s National Sitting Volleyball Team, which partners enthusiastically welcomed as a positive sign for the journey ahead.

The work has officially begun, and partners are now starting the implementation of the first project activities and results.
Stay tuned for updates and upcoming project developments.
